Abstract

Coppie minime by Giulia Martini is a poetic work rich in intertextual allusions to medieval literature, the themes and fragments of which find new coherence and a new function in the context of a metaliterary discourse on contemporary poetry. The paper explores this process by analysing key poems of Martini’s book. Namely, the theme of the death of the lyric Self links, within Coppie minime, Dante and Cavalcanti’s poetic discourse with that of Patrizia Cavalli.

  • Stefano Milonia, WIRL-COFUND Fellow, Institute of Advanced Study, University of Warwick

    Stefano Milonia obtained a joint Doctorate degree in Romance Philology from Sapienza and PSL-École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris. He worked as an Ingénieur d'Études at the University of Toulouse 2 - Jean Jaurès and was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge. He is currently a WIRL-COFUND Fellow at the University of Warwick. He worked on Occitan, French and Italian medieval literature, medieval music and digital humanities.
